The further progression of Edgar’s ecdysis (molting)… In the first video, taken at about 18 minutes in, we see him inching himself out and employing a shivering motion. In the second, taken 4 minutes later, we see the tips of his as-yet compact baby wings clear the lip of the exuvium (shell).

The next stage, as we know from Betsy the Cicada, will be for Edgar to start hanging horizontally rather than upright, and then backwards, as his thorax is freed and he hangs by his abdomen.
