J-P Matsavainio’s work converting his own stellar images to 3D is quite remarkable! I’ve enjoyed the recent talks he gave, along with David Eicher and Dr. Brian May, at the book release as well as at an NYSA meeting. Here are a bunch a 3D stereoconversions I made of his videos—rotating views of 3D models he painstakingly created, based on a combination of real astronomical data, educated guesswork, and artistic interpretation. These show:

  1. IC 1396 Nebula
  2. IC 410 Nebula
  3. Soul Nebula
  4. Bubble Nebula (starless version)
  5. Rosette Nebula
  6. Veil Nebula (zoomed in)
  7. Veil Nebula (wide view)

Check out more of J-P’s work at astroanarchy.zenfolio.com, on his YouTube channel, and of course in the new Cosmic Clouds 3-D book!
