I am old! …In other news, here are the somewhat mixed results of a 3D experiment in posed stereopairs on Zoom. Because it was my birthday, my friends humored me as I directed them to 1) pose for a screenshot, 2) freeze in place but move their devices—laptops, phones, etc.—an inch or two to the right, perpendicular to the screens, and 3) continue their poses as I took another screenshot. Ta-da: a DIY en masse sequential stereopair!
It turns out that this is easier said than done, hahaha, as you can see by my own not-very-good job at this task in the 3rd pic here. However, as proof of concept, this clearly works! I wanted to request some Zoom panel do this at this summer’s 3D-Con, and then at NYSA meetings, but the right time never came around. Anyway, I hope my stereo friends will try this on Zoom at some point!
